Hale Pohaku is located in Waimanalo, which is on the eastern side of Oahu (the island with Honolulu and Waikiki).

the North Shore - Along the way you can stop at the Polynesian Cultural Center in Laie, then head on out to world famous Sunset Beach, Pipeline, and Waimea Bay. Lastly, you can stop in rustic Haleiwa for some great food, arts and crafts, and fine art.
Waikiki - You say you've come all the way to Hawaii and would like to watch the sunset sipping a mai tai on Waikiki beach? Well, here are the directions. You can take the route shown through the beautiful Koolau mountain range or come along Route 72 and enjoy the ocean scenery.
13 Minutes away is Hanauma Bay Nature Park where you can swim with thousands of fishes in as little as knee deep water.

You could drive into Kailua and play some morning tennis at Kailua Receation Center and go for some lunch at one of the many ethnic restaurants in Kailua.
About 300 yards away is Point Break which is a surf shop where you can rent surfboards and kayaks.

12 minutes away is Kailua Sailboards & Kayaks Inc which rents out kayaks and windsurfers. They are located within walking distance of Kailua Beach Park, one of the best beaches to learn windsurfing at.
